You've probably seen the image of this 1975 work by Ed Ruscha around town: in newspapers, on bus shelters, online, and in other forms of media. The editioned piece is in LACMA's permanent collection, a gift of the Jane & Marc Nathanson Family Foundation as part of a portfolio of lithographs by Ruscha. It was selected for our 50th Anniversary media campaign because it perfectly articulates our sentiments.
In five words, it delivers an open thank-you letter to all the artists, members, patrons, and visitors who have been helped make LACMA one of the most active spaces in the city and one of the most dynamic museums in the world.
There's a lot in store over the coming weeks as we officially mark our 50th anniversary. Check out these listings to be part of our celebration.
