It's a music-filled weekend at LACMA! Friday night, make time for Jazz at LACMA with the soulful stylings of Dawn Norfleet at 6 pm. Saturday features a special concert, De tradición y nuevas rolas, a showcase of avant-garde music performed by young Mexican musicians, in Hancock Park. At 6 pm on Sunday, come to the Bing Theater for Sundays Live, where chamber ensembles from the American Youth Symphony will perform Richard Strauss's Sextet for Strings and Antonin Dvorak's String Quintet in E flat major.
As for the collection, From the Archives: Art and Technology at LACMA, 1967–1971 closes on Sunday. The show features documents, plans, and ephemera from LACMA's 1967 Art and Technology Program; check it out on the second floor of the Ahmanson Building. Top off your visit with a screening of Claes Odenburg's Possibly a Special on the Bag in the Bing Theater at 1 pm on Sunday. Weekend gallery tours include a Highlights of the Museum: Ancient to Modern tour on Saturday at 12 pm and a walkthrough of New Objectivity: Modern German Art in the Weimar Republic, 1919-1933 on Sunday at 11 am.
Visiting families can participate in Andell Family Sundays, which features an architecture program free with admission for parents and children alike, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.
