2018 marks the 80th anniversary of trumpet great Freddie Hubbard's birth. Toast the anniversary on Friday evening at Jazz at LACMA, which celebrates this legendary trumpeter and composer (who spent the last part of his career in Los Angeles) with another special trumpet player, Scotty Barnhart. Barnhart is a two-time Grammy Award winner and leader of the Count Basie Orchestra, and has performed the world over working with such legends as Frank Sinatra, Wynton Marsalis, and Herbie Hancock. The concert will pay homage to the jazz legend and feature many of Hubbard's classic jazz hits.
As always, come with your friends and family, dance to the music, pack a picnic, and enjoy the summer evening at LACMA!
