Need to keep the kiddos occupied during winter break? Looking for unique experiences to share with out-of-town guests? Join us at LACMA for a variety of family-friendly activities.
Explore the museum’s current exhibitions including Betye Saar: Call and Response, Julie Mehretu, and Fiji: Art & Life in the Pacific. Visit The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China before it closes on Sunday, January 5, then participate in a Winter Art Workshop inspired by the exhibition—Woven Sculpture on Tuesday, December 24 at 9 am or Wondrous Assemblage on Thursday, December 26 at 9 am.
Visit anytime during regular museum hours to participate in our ongoing Pop-up Art-making Activities in the Galleries. Simply stop by the Family Welcome Table on the Smidt Welcome Plaza each time you visit to find out where we are that day!
Saturday, December 28 through Sunday, January 5, experience Lights on at LACMA—a holiday lounge with lights, music, art-making activities, and more! Bring family and friends to gather at LACMA for a special light display, music, and a limited-time-only menu of hot cocoas, ciders, and churros at the C+M coffee bar. Relax after a visit to the galleries in the heated and covered outdoor lounge overlooking Chris Burden’s Urban Light sculpture and enjoy listening to tunes from a different DJ each day of the event.
As a special treat, Metropolis II by Chris Burden will be in action every day of the holiday season, through January 12!
A friendly reminder that residents of L.A. County (with valid ID) always receive free admission to LACMA every weekday after 3 pm. We hope to see you in the galleries soon!
