Members of the Transcendental Painting Group sought to explore spiritually heightened abstraction by employing free-wheeling symbols and imagery drawn from the collective unconscious. Today their paintings continue to emphasize how abstraction can be used in service of the spiritual and are on view in Another World, the first comprehensive exhibition devoted to the group, which closes this Sunday, June 19.
