- Grading and underground utilities for new outdoor spaces continue on the construction site north of Wilshire Boulevard. Concrete paving will start.
- The temporary “falsework” support structure, which was installed to support construction of the new building where it crosses over Wilshire Boulevard (between Spaulding and Stanley) and to allow traffic to travel safely underneath, continues to be removed.
- The falsework system is being removed first over the eastbound lanes of Wilshire Boulevard and then will be removed over the westbound lanes of Wilshire Boulevard.
- Removal will be completed in a couple of weeks, subject to unforeseen delays.
- Traffic control is required while the falsework is removed over the roadway. The traffic control will be set up and taken down daily, allowing normal flow of traffic outside of work hours.
- During removal of the falsework over the eastbound lanes, eastbound traffic is being diverted onto the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. Westbound traffic will remain on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. During removal of the falsework over the westbound lanes, westbound traffic will be diverted onto the south side of Wilshire Boulevard. Eastbound traffic will remain on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard.
- All work is being done in accordance with the Environmental Impact Report and EIR Addendum and project approvals by both the County and the City, and accordingly, automobile traffic on Wilshire Boulevard will remain open in both directions.
Please Note: Metro Construction
- Due to Metro construction, the south curbside of Wilshire Boulevard is a work zone from Spaulding to San Diego Way (west of Fairfax).
- During Metro construction along the south curbside of Wilshire Boulevard, the west and eastbound lanes on Wilshire will be intermittently reduced to one drive lane.
