Today, Friday, September 16, marks the first birthday of the Study Center for Photography and Works on Paper! To celebrate, we're mounting a public viewing of work from the collection all day today. The works reflect the themes of Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters. Later, enjoy the smooth sounds of pianist and composer Theo Saunders, whose musical odyssey has taken him to four continents, 25 countries, and right into Friday night’s Jazz at LACMA. The concert is accompanied by the work of legendary visual artist George Herms, most notable for piecing together everyday found objects and turning them into groundbreaking artwork.

Over the past several years, Manfredi Gioacchini has visited the studios of Los Angeles artists to capture informal portraits for his new book. Visit Art Catalogues on Sunday afternoon to see the portraits and to hear Manfredi speak with artist Jonas Wood about the ongoing project.
