DAPPER DAY + LACMA returns this weekend! It's a day and night full of art, fashion, film, music, and dancing centered around Chagall: Fantasies for the Stage. You're invited to bring your own style to the party—from vintage-inspired classics to chic, contemporary looks.
Enjoy a 35mm screening of The Red Shoes, followed by a conversation about costume design for dance with movement director Stephen Galloway, costume designer Bobi Garland, and artist and designer Stacia Lang. Read more about this program on our latest Unframed post.
Other DAPPER DAY events includes extended gallery hours, the season finale of Latin Sounds, and a late-night dance party by Urban Light with a DJ and special dance floor. We hope to see you there, dressed in your best!
On Sunday, kick off the first Carlos Almaraz-themed Andell Family Sunday! Chicano artist Carlos Almaraz painted Los Angeles through color and movement. Get to know him and his art in the exhibition Playing with Fire, then make your own art inspired by Echo Park Lake to fiery freeway car crashes to surreal dreamscapes of his imagination.
Escape the heat this weekend by stepping into the galleries for docent-led tours. Tours this weekend include inside looks at the exhibitions Polished to Perfection, Los Angeles to New York: Dwan Gallery, and A Universal History of Infamy.
